My private practice is boutique and focuses on quality of care. I can offer a full range of options across all domains of plastic surgery, but will refer on to colleagues when it's in your best interest.

Ensure you choose a surgeon who is RACS qualified. Plastic surgeons spend their training years honing reconstructive skills and developing an aesthetic eye. The threshold for entering and finishing training is high, so you can be assured of quality.
Most Plastic surgeons, including myself, have undertaken extensive post fellowship training in international centres.

I find it undignified to offer a list of achievements and testimonials. To find the right surgeon for you, your best research is done by asking around, and finding out who offers great patient care!

AESTHETIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE BREAST SURGERY
I work closely with the general surgeons from Breastcare in helping women with breast cancer both in public and private. I can offer the full range of reconstructive options, so you can be rest assured you will be offered the reconstructive choice that is best for you!
My aesthetic surgery practice focuses largely on breast and body surgery and includes breast reduction, mastopexy (breast lift), breast augmentation, surgery for breast asymmetry and tuberous breast deformity.
Many more women are asking about autologous breast augmentation - using your own tissue. This can be achieved by fat grafting after liposuction, or by using your excess abdominal tissue as a free flap procedure. See the link for more information.

SKIN CANCER SURGERY
Plastic surgeons in New Zealand are comprehensively trained in the complete surgical management of skin cancer, from initial biopsy to topical treatments, straight forwards excisions and complex surgery involving reconstruction and lymph node dissection. I sit in the Canterbury complex skin malignancy multi-disciplinary meeting and work closely with colleagues in oncology focussing on the best possible outcomes for patients with skin cancer.

All You: Breast Augmentation
Some women would love to have more breast fullness, but don't like the idea of silicone implants. There are two options available to discuss.
Autologous fat grafting for breast augmentation is a natural and effective method that involves transferring fat from one part of the body to the breasts. This procedure not only enhances breast volume but also provides a more natural look and feel compared traditional implants. The process begins with liposuction to harvest fat from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, which is then purified and injected into the breast tissue. This technique offers the dual benefits of body contouring and breast enhancement, making it appealing option for many patients seeking a more subtle enhancement.
The downside to fat grafting is the loss of up to 50% of the initial volume over subsequent months, and occasionally a repeat procedure is needed to obtain the required volume.

A more complex, but more predictable, option is to use excess abdominal tissue as a free-flap for augmentation. This involves removing an ellipse of fat and skin from the abdomen (the same as a tummy-tuck) and using this tissue with attached blood vessels, which are joined to vessels in the chest, for an immediate autologous (all you) augmentation. This is a large procedure taking an all-day operating list and requiring two surgeons. While this is usually a procedure for breast reconstruction after mastectomy, it is an option for women who would benefit from a tummy-tuck, as well as a wish for breast augmetation with or without a breast lift. Note the total cost for this procedure is very considerable.​

Personalised "before and after" series are ethically fraught and surgeons tend to choose their best results to publicise. This can create unrealistic expectations.
